Biometric data is an increasingly important tool in identity management globally, helping countries reduce fraud and integrity risks. Many countries have already introduced biometrics to improve visa and border checking processes.

Collection in Australia

Clients applying for Protection visas in Australia will need to provide a digital photograph and fingerprints at an office of the department.
Note: Not all offices are equipped to collect personal identifiers.

Collection outside Australia

The Biometrics in Visa Processing Program is an Australian Government initiative that incorporates biometrics collection into the overseas visa application process.
