Fees and charges for Australian visas

If you pay for your visa application by credit card, a surcharge will apply. The current surcharge rates are:

American Express and JCB - 1.99%
Diners Club International - 2.91%

The cost of visas changes from time to time. The cost of your visa is dependent on the date we receive your application. If there is a price increase between the date you lodge your application and the date we receive your application, you will need to pay the new application charge.
The visa application charge is the amount of money in Australian dollars (AUD) that must be paid for a visa application. In some cases the visa application charge is nil.

9d Your visa application charge might be nil if you are outside Australia when you apply and you can show one of the following:

you are identified in a nomination by an entertainment sponsor to perform as an entertainer or support an entertainer in one or more engagements that are for non-profit purposes
you are identified in a nomination by an entertainment sponsor who is funded wholly or in part by the Australian Government and has the approval of the Secretary of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection
you are a member of the family unit included in the application and identified in one of the above nominations.

Eligible applicants wanting to join a member of the family unit who is a visa holder in Australia are able to make an application in their own right. They are required to pay the base application charge (if applicable) and additional applicant charge (if applicable) for any eligible additional applicants.
The table below shows the relevant charges that will be payable when making an application.

2. is assessed as not having functional English; and
3. satisfies the secondary criteria for the grant of this visa
is: $4890.
For any other applicant the second instalment is nil.

Visa evidence charge (VEC)

The Australian Government does not require you to have a visa label in your passport to travel to, enter or remain in Australia. For more information on Australia's label free policy see Visa Labels.
It is Australian Government policy to charge for visa labels. The charge for a visa label is AUD150.
You can request and pay for a visa label if you have a current Australian visa.
